Overview of Role and Key Accountabilities

This critical role is responsible for effectively leading our Communications function which includes Internal Communications, Public Relations and Social Media initiatives for frontdoor/American Home Shield.

  • Support employee communications and activities, including executive communications employee engagement initiatives, town hall meetings, and other key company events.
  • Provide consultation to business partners on communication methods, appropriate media, and key messages to best reach target audience
  • Assist with development, implementation, and execution of internal communications strategy and plans
  • Coach and develop Internal Communications Team Members
  • Create original content including press releases, bylined articles, customer case studies, blogs, video scripts, whitepapers, etc., ensuring alignment of key messages and strategy in support of the company’s vision and business plans.
  • Accountable for the organization's corporate intranet content and structure
  • Track, monitor and evaluate communications activities and accomplishments to measure success
  • Handle media inquiries, interview requests, and issues management.
  • Provide real-time crisis communication support, engaging media as well as develop key messages for internal and external stakeholders
  • Partner with investor relations team and executive leadership to manage online newsroom, coordinate quarterly earnings releases and earnings calls and lead the production of annual report
  • Facilitate online conversations and resolve issues on social properties. Lead social media training, governance and policy for corporate accounts and authorized users

Desired Experience and Skills

  • Bachelors in Journalism, Marketing, PR, English, Communications or related field
  • Minimum 5+ years of related corporate experience in communications, public relations, marketing communications, or similar role.
  • Extraordinary ability to write and communicate clearly and concisely, and to effectively tailor messages to specific and multiple constituencies.
  • High level of energy, self-confidence, and enthusiasm with ability to work well with team members and all levels of management, including C-level executives
  • Ability to respond to rapidly changing conditions with agility and imagination.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including ability to multitask, organize, prioritize and follow through on commitments.
  • Acts with integrity and discreetness, always protecting confidential information.
