Position Overview


Perform a variety of paralegal functions with emphasis on creative/copy review, games and sweepstakes, do not solicit, privacy, CAN-Spam, TSR, TCPA and related state and federal marketing, advertising and consumer protection laws and regulations.  Provide assessment to counsel and marketing departments.  Maintain file organization per company policies.  Maintain significant direct client contact relative to wide range of legal issues.  Conduct research, legal writing and business communications, and summarization of materials with respect to a wide range of legal issues in a fast-paced environment.  Handle special projects as directed.  Provide support to assistant general counsel. 


Provide general legal support and counsel with respect to various contractual issues.  Draft, negotiate and structure a variety of contracts (supply chain, marketing, IT, employment, etc.).  Manage negotiations with third parties and their counsel.  Work directly with outside counsel as needed.  Coordinate and communicate with multiple members of the legal department and various business departments on a regular basis.  Participate in the implementation and operation of a new contract management process. Draft/revise/update form agreements as necessary.


Knowledge of contract, marketing and advertising law is required.  Excellent communication, decision-making and analytical skills required.  Must be able to work independently and prioritize projects.  Must demonstrate excellent ability to communicate, manage and build relationships with corporate clients.  Superior computer skills required including conducting legal research on various areas. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide support for department attorney
  • Review and negotiate contracts under supervision of department attorney.
  • Draft letters and memoranda on contract compliance, and in response to claims.
  • Gather documents for legal research and projects.
  • Prepare and distribute reports weekly, monthly, and/or quarterly.
  • Input claim and litigation information.
  • Handle legal reserve and outside counsel billing.
  • Organize and file correspondence and reports.
  • Maintain legal/litigation files.

Job Requirements

  • Associates/Bachelors degree and Paralegal Certification
  • Minimum 5 – 7 years of experience in the field or in a related area or a combination of education and experience equivalent to 6 years
  • Knowledge of commonly-used legal processes, practices, and procedures
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with management and customers
  • Ability to effectively manage time and multiple tasks
  • Ability to recommend courses of action to management
  • Knowledge of the business
  • Skilled legal research abilities
  • Excel, PowerPoint, and Word computer skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as on a team.
  • Ability to make independent judgment
  • Possess problem solving and analytical skills
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)

  • Close visual acuity to perform detail oriented activities at distances close to the eyes, as well as visual acuity to perform activities at or within arm’s reach with skill, control, and accuracy, such as preparing and analyzing data, viewing computer screen and expansive reading.

Incumbent will be subject to:

  • Inside working conditions: The change of building environment such as with or without air conditioning and heating.
