Position Overview

Responsible for developing new business within the Company’s assigned strategic business groups (SBG) / vertical. Identifies customer prospects to fill the sales funnel, works with current and new clients to sell solutions in the divisional Commercial marketplace. New revenue generation, profitability, budget achievement, client retention and Net Promoter Score (NPS) are key metrics for this position.

Job Responsibilities

  • Works closely with Key Account Leader for SBG / vertical to identify key customer targets and go-to-market approach for the division.
  • Identifies and drives new account acquisition within a select portfolio of key accounts within the assigned vertical of strategic importance to the business to drive profitable revenue growth.
  • Leads the overall relationship with select strategic customers, develops multi-level contact strategies and implements strategic selling plans to expand market share for key customers.
  • Uses CRM system to enter, update and maintain all customer related activity information on prospects and clients.
  • Utilizes the Company’s resources to generate momentum to move the prospect through the sales funnel to an active client to achieve budget goals.
  • Develops strategic selling solutions while understanding the corporate culture of prospects.  Strategies may include sales presentations, contract negotiations and closing/signing of prospective clients.
  • Assists with account implementation by understanding the technical and consultative aspects of selling the Company’s service(s) and by keeping all members of the Company’s team up-to-date on issues and actions that occur
  • Attends periodic meetings with clients per protocols; quarterly business reviews, annual corporate reviews and audits per agreement
  • May work with existing accounts to support client retention, cultivate growth through program upgrades, price increases etc. and resolve any client issues
  • Oversees the implementation of new service and solutions with customers
  • Attends customer and industry events and leads customer meetings
  • Expands sales within new accounts (within 1st year), focuses on customer service, develops relationships with key decision makers, understands and responds to customer needs, tracks, and monitors account activity.
  • Partners with Business Development Managers (BDM’s) to drive sales in National Accounts where appropriate including key targets in preferred accounts
  • Effectively transitions accounts to Key Account Executive, ensuring complete customer satisfaction through the transition process
  • Leverages the expertise of the Key Account Leader as necessary for key customer acquisition, training and support, and any other customer related activities where the KAM may need additional support.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in a business related discipline, or equivalent experience required
  • 5+ years of commercial sales experience with strong contacts within the assigned vertical
  • Demonstrated skills in pure business development roles
  • Experience developing and executing against sales plans
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Business and financial acumen, including P&L management and analytic skills
  • Practical knowledge of the service industry
  • Strategic and innovative thinking skills
  • Project management, organization, multi-tasking and prioritization skills
  • Team oriented approach to sales
  • Strategic and integrative thinking skills
  • Professional written and verbal communication Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed for business unit, including overnight
  • Up to 40% travel required Must be able to obtain and maintain pest control license
  • Salesforce experience desired but not required.
  • Valid, permanent driver’s license from the state of residence and a clean driving record, defined as a no DUI-related violations within the past 5 years and no more than three moving violations within the past three years is required.

Incumbent is required to have:

Incumbent will be subject to:

  • Occasionally wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including, but not limited to an OSHA compliant respirator.
  • Regularly work in confined spaces, narrow aisles, or passageways.
  • Inside working conditions – the change of building environment such as with or without air conditioning and heating.
