Job Description

In keeping with the strategic intent to grow the Terminix business, Terminix is looking for high energy, self-motivated, creative and entrepreneurial talent to support the TMX Growth Lab (TGL) focused on driving revenue and growth for the organization. The team will interact with key leaders across both the Terminix business and ServiceMaster enterprise. The TGL will work to accelerate new ideas generated from the internal team as well as solicit additional input from others across the business to support the investment of ideas for growth. Team members will be on the front lines of sourcing and screening deals for potential investment as well as support existing endeavors focused on enhanced due diligence, modeling and execution for results. Talent in this role will be afforded the opportunity to work on a broad array of key responsibilities across the projects and work cross functionally across the organization to garner support for the initiatives and position Terminix as the notable leader in the industry.


Key Responsibilities

  • Synthesize industry, market and economic trends to assist with continually keeping the team’s knowledge current
  • Research and manage the identification of industry opportunities in the company as well as establishing growth projects on a regular basis
  • Develop and implement catalyst projects in order to strengthen the growth trajectory of the company within the market segments
  • Monitor, document, and react to the financial and operational status of the growth portfolios
  • Ensure sustainability of growth and results within target initiatives
  • Develop a strong and sustainable network across the Terminix and ServiceMaster organization
  • Support build out and analysis of financial models assisting with the evaluation of investment opportunities and due diligence efforts for deals under construction
  • Assist with pipeline, deal and portfolio reviews, scheduling review meetings with key stakeholders at appropriate intervals
  • Develop materials in support of internal review sessions to maintain awareness and support with internal and external team members across the deal life-cycle
  • Track market activity including funding events and trends, exits, new fund formation and section news, preparing periodic reports to update the team at large
  • Assess the viability of product/service market fit, defining the competitive advantage and market landscape for potential new products and/or services
  • Define, scope, plan and prepare the business opportunity for launch
  • Manage multiple work streams, with competing priorities, in a changing environment

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA a plus
  • 3-5 years of experience in roles of increasing responsibility
  • Strong financial and analytical skills and proficiency in spreadsheet modeling
  • Passion for and interest in growth equity and impact investing through identification of high-growth business opportunities
  • Self-starter, able to initiate projects and work independently
  • Strong strategic thinking capability and proven strategy development and implementation capabilities
  • Enjoys working in a fast paced, ambiguous environment and is resilient under pressure
  • Proven teamwork skills both as a leader and cross-functional team member
  • Market research experience, both quantitative and qualitative
