Position Overview

Provides comprehensive consultative and analytic support to corporate, business unit and human resource management on compensation strategies, programs, issues and practices. Develops, implements, and administers base, incentive and/or executive compensation programs. Evaluates jobs at all organizational levels. Researches, analyzes and summarizes market data and pay practices.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develops, implements and administers base, incentive, and executive compensation programs, including compensation philosophy, job classification and job family structures, market pricing criteria and salary structures.
  • Evaluates jobs at all organizational levels to determine appropriate pay grade assignment based external market competitiveness and internal job worth and FLSA compliance.
  • Documents and analyzes jobs and prepares formal job descriptions.
  • Researches, analyzes and summarizes market data and pay practices; participates in compensation surveys.
  • Manages ongoing, periodic and ad hoc compensation projects, including pay for performance programs (e.g., annual merit process).
  • Analyzes internal pay equity, documents and recommends pay adjustments, and reviews changes in wages and salaries for conformance to policy.
  • Contributes to the design, development and implementation of compensation communication and training materials; delivers and facilitates compensation-related training and development programs as needed.
  • Serves as a resource to support and develop peers and human resource partners on compensation principles, practices, policies and procedures.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience in compensation required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Combination of related experience in human resources, consulting, analytics, and/or finance may be considered
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) and/or Senior/Professional in Human Resources (S/PHR) credentials preferred./li>
  • Broad knowledge of base, incentive, and/or executive compensation principles and practices, including analysis, design, administration, and regulation compliance
  • Skill and ability to apply consultative and influencing skills in a business environment
  • Strong communications skills, including delivering presentations
  • Attention to detail, analytical and financial modeling skills
  • Knowledge and skills to manage projects, organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information

  • Move up to 10 pounds occasionally, by lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise repositioning objects.

  • Fingering and Repetitive motions; such as movement of wrists, hands and fingers while picking, pinching and typing during your normal working environment.
  • Express or exchange ideas with others through the use of spoken word, quickly, accurately, and at an easily audible volume, and receive detailed information through oral communication at usual speaking levels without correction, and/or make fine discriminations in the nature of sounds in the environment.

Incumbent is required to have:

  • Close visual acuity to perform detail oriented activities at distances close to the eyes, as well as visual acuity to perform activities at or within arm’s reach with skill, control, and accuracy, such as preparing and analyzing data, viewing computer screen and expansive reading.
