Job Description



Position Overview

Assists in the planning and development of department objectives, long-range and strategic plans, and identification of department strengths and weaknesses. Develops and maintains key customer relationships with suppliers as well as internal leaders. Performs financial planning and analysis to improve department effectiveness, capacity utilization, operating cost containment, etc.



Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead the strategy for optimizing SVM’s $650 million spend (i.e. Sales & marketing, HR, IT, communications, travel, uniforms, etc.).
  • Develop and maintain key customer relationships with BU and functional VP’s and other leaders to insure alignment of objectives and priorities with the BU’s.
  • Develop and drive compliance with buying policies and procedures./li>
  • Drive continuous improvement in process control, automation, and innovation.
  • Develop and implement best practices for managing all spend activities including standardization of specs, spend aggregation, supplier consolidation, demand reduction, supply chain optimization and inventory control to control costs and maximize value.
  • Develop and coach associates.
  • Perform financial planning and analysis to identify value improvement opportunities for the spend categories and to support the business units.
  • Manage relationships and performance with suppliers


Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance ,Supply Chain Management or equivalent required.
  • Masters Degree or MBA is strongly preferred.
  • Should have demonstrated success in sourcing, category management, supplier development and contract management in a large, multi-branch, operation over a large geographic area.
  • 15 years experience managing large, mission critical spend categories.
  • Demonstrated success leading change across diverse businesses and cultures.
  • ServiceMaster field operations experience and/or institutional knowledge is a plus (Region VP or equivalent).
  • Training needs to be completed prior to hire date/li>
  • Ability to implement and lead successful change across multiple business units
  • Strong communications skills

Incumbent is required to have:

  • Close visual acuity to perform detail oriented activities at distances close to the eyes, as well as visual acuity to perform activities at or within arm’s reach with skill, control, and accuracy, such as preparing and analyzing data, viewing computer screen and expansive reading.

Incumbent will be subject to:

  • Inside working conditions: The change of building environment such as with or without air conditioning and heating.
