Position Overview

Oversees and directs the development and implementation of training strategy, initiatives, and programs for business unit(s). Aligns training and development programs to business unit(s)initiatives and strategies.

Job Responsibilities

1. Oversees and directs the development and implementation of training strategy, initiatives and programs for the business unit. May oversee multiple business unit(s).
2. Identifies the most cost-efficient ways to deliver relevant training to employees throughout the business unit(s). 3. May update and maintain Learning Management Systems.
4. Designs and sets infrastructure of business unit(s) training function
5. Evaluates business unit(s) training management and corresponding results to measure effectiveness.
6. Ensures standardization of employee training.
7. Directs allocation and administration of budget and resources, including contracts with third-party vendors.
8. May create on-line and instructor led training options.
9. Researches industry trends, new technologies and techniques to update current training curriculum.

Job Requirements

1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
2. Master’s degree preferred
3. 8+ years of training and development experience required
4. 2+ years of management experience required
5. Knowledge of training and development strategy for a large organizational and/or functional business unit
6. Knowledge of training and development principles, practices and methods, including needs assessment and instructional design
7. Knowledge of training theories and principles, including applied behavioral science, adult learning theory, and established industry models of evaluation
8. Knowledge of current training and development technology
9. Knowledge of change management principles and methods
10. Skill and ability to facilitate and conduct instructor-led and/or virtual training
11. Ability to organize, manage and lead multiple projects and teams
12. Knowledge and ability to provide performance consulting
13. Professional written and verbal communication skills including influencing, group facilitation and persuading others
14. Attention to detail and analytical skills
15. Skill in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook software applications
16. Knowledge of general business principles and practices
17. Financial acumen, including budgeting and resource management
18. Knowledge and skill to develop, implement and execute policies

Incumbent must be prepared to:

•Move up to 10 pounds occasionally, by lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise repositioning objects.

•Fingering and Repetitive motions; such as movement of wrists, hands and fingers while picking, pinching and typing during your normal working environment.
•Express or exchange ideas with others through the use of spoken word, quickly, accurately, and at an easily audible volume, and receive detailed information through oral communication at usual speaking levels without correction, and/or make fine discriminations in the nature of sounds in the environment.

Incumbent is required to have:

•Close visual acuity to perform detail oriented activities at distances close to the eyes, as well as visual acuity to perform activities at or within arm’s reach with skill, control, and accuracy, such as preparing and analyzing data, viewing computer screen and expansive reading.

Incumbent will be subject to:

•Inside working conditions: The change of building environment such as with or without air conditioning and heating.
