Job Description

Responsible for the supervision and activities of the payroll staff, ensuring the accuracy of payroll-related data, compliance with State and Federal regulatory agency requirements and guidelines and monitoring employee performance to achieve the department's overall objectives.

Job Responsibilities
1. Responsible for managing payroll for over 13,000 associates through third-party vendor.
2. Ensures that payroll, garnishment and tax transactions are processed timely and accurately.
3. Reviews quarterly and annual tax filings and resolves discrepancies, as needed.
4. Manages and develops team.
5. Maintains current knowledge of applicable state and federal wage and hour laws.
6. Ensures payroll-related topics are communicated to internal stakeholders, as needed.
7. Provides support to accounting and finance, as needed.
8. Develops and documents payroll procedures.

Job Requirements
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field or equivalent experience required.
2. Minimum of 5+ years’ experience as a manager in a payroll related function required.
3. CPP preferred
4. Prior experience with tax, garnishments and other payroll related services preferred
5. Workday experience preferred
6. Ability to interact and communicate with all levels of staff
7. Ability to maintain confidentiality
8. Strong computer skills and knowledge of MS Excel
9. Accuracy and strong attention to detail
10. Strong time management skills
11. Strong organizational skills
12. Strong deductive reasoning skills
13. Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
14. Excellent problem solving skills
15. Ability to analyze data in order to identify trends
