Job Description

Position overview:

Responsible for the research and accounting of complex accounting transactions and the annual and quarterly reporting of the Company’s consolidated financials to the SEC.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with SEC reporting, including involvement in the preparation of earnings call materials, all requiring detailed coordination with leadership and staff across functional units.
  • Assist with technical accounting research relating to complex transactions, including business acquisitions and dispositions, debt refinancing and stock compensation.
  • Assist with accounting for interest rate swaps, cross currency swaps and net investment hedges, fuel hedges, stock compensation and self-insurance reserves.
  • Responsible for implementation of new ASUs.
  • Manage annual impairment analysis and 401(k) audit.
  • Manage captive insurance company accounting and annual audit.
  • Assist with and manage various internal reporting tasks.

Education and experience requirements:

  • CPA required.
  • 4+ years of experience required in public accounting and/or technical accounting responsibilities for a corporate accounting department.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Math, analytical and budgeting skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem solving and decision making skills.

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
  • Knowledge of income statement and balance sheet analysis.
  • Verbal and written communication skills, including ability to present to senior management.
  • Organizational and planning skills to prioritize projects and meet deadlines.
  • Quantitative and qualitative analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Consulting and collaboration skills.
  • Computer skills with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Incumbent is required to have:

  • Close visual acuity to perform detail oriented activities at distances close to the eyes, as well as visual acuity to perform activities at or within arm’s reach with skill, control, and accuracy, such as preparing and analyzing data, viewing computer screen and expansive reading.

Incumbent will be subject to:

  • Inside working conditions: The change of building environment such as with or without air conditioning and heating.


Position Overview

Manages all aspects of the company’s workers’ compensation program. Develops and implements processes and procedures to achieve cost containment and cost reductions. Responsibilities may include pursuing claims resolution opportunities, settlements, denials, and litigation management; return-to-work management; authorizing payment of settlements; managing the insurance carrier to ensure effective administration of the program; and providing consultation regarding claims matters to managers and employees. This is an individual contributor position and does not manage people.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage WC Process and TPA to Special Handling Instructions
  • Manage the claims financial reserving and SAR process
  • Manage Return-to-Work process
  • Support Field Safety/Branch staff on WC matters (advocate, liaison between the Branch and our TPA/Insurance company, troubleshooting, analyzing data)
  • Achieve reduction in claims expense
  • Educate BU/Branch on WC process

Job Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree
  • 7 years of direct WC claims management experience (in-house/TPA/insurance company)
  • Certifications designations as required by jurisdiction
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Intermediate level of Microsoft Office required
  • Broad knowledge of state workers’ compensation laws
  • Strong planning, analytical and influencing skills
  • Technical/professional knowledge and skill
