Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Responsible for providing thought-partnership and day-to-day support in the development, implementation and measurement of internal communications and public relations for ServiceMaster business unit, Terminix.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Internal Communications:

  • Assist with the development of internal business communications and strategies ensuring alignment with company values, themes, core messaging, and business priorities.
  • Gatekeeper for corporate and field communications supported by stellar organization skills and management of editorial calendar/scheduling.
  • Provide pre/on-site/post executive meeting support, as needed, to inform, align, and inspire internal audiences, both corporate and field, on mission critical initiatives.
  • Creative/business writing for select communication materials including video/audio scripts, executive letters, speeches, web/digital content and other communications as needed.
  • Manage and ensure continuity across key communication channels including corporate intranet, digital monitors, mobile communications app, etc.
  • Foster a culture of communication that drives employee engagement.
  • Manage a communications cadence with assigned leadership stakeholders.
  • Assist in development and implementation of ServiceMaster communications, as needed.
  • Monitor performance metrics.

Public Relations:

  • Point of contact for full service PR agency managing monthly activations to increase positive brand awareness.
  • Manage media inquiries, interview requests, and some crisis management.
  • Review content for press releases, byline articles, keynote presentations and other external communications.
  • Maintain a keen understanding of industry trends and make appropriate recommendations to support strategy.
  • Manage public relations agency resources.
  • Monitor performance metrics.

  • 1 – Communications Consultant

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum 7+ years of related corporate experience; communications/journalism background desirable.
  • Experience in developing and leading proactive multimedia communication campaigns. Solid understanding of corporate communications and its impact on the business.
  • Business and creative writing experience is a plus.

  • Superb writing skills and ability to tailor messages to specific and multiple audiences.
  • Ability to think strategically with solid business knowledge.
  • High level of energy, self-confidence, and enthusiasm with ability to work well with team members and all levels of management
  • Ability to respond to rapidly changing conditions with agility and imagination, capitalizing on emerging communication opportunities.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including ability to project manage, multitask, organize, prioritize and follow through on commitments.
  • Ability to maintain discretion and manage confidential information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and excellent working knowledge of Internet/intranet.

Incumbent is required to have: 

• Close visual acuity to perform detail oriented activities at distances close to the eyes, as well as visual acuity to perform activities at or within arm’s reach with skill, control, and accuracy,  such as preparing and analyzing data, viewing computer screen and expansive reading.

• Inside working conditions: The change of building environment such as with or without air conditioning and heating.
