Job Description

Position Overview

Analyzes comprehensive benefits data (including but not limited to medical and pharmacy claims, eligibility data, absence and productivity, workers compensation, and retirement contributions) to provide insight into employee health, benefit expense patterns and vendor quality. Manage projects and key processes related to leave, retirement, and health management.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop metrics to monitor performance of external partners to ensure they are meeting required service levels.
  • Track medical plan expenses to determine overall plan cash flow.
  • Participate in the implementation, communication, and administration of all benefit plans.
  • Assist in the development, review, and delivery of compliance materials including annual forms 5500, Summary Annual Reports, and Summary Plan Descriptions.
  • Assist with due diligence for acquisition, merger, integration, and divestiture activities.
  • Provide analytic support on key benefits projects.
  • Analyze data and processes to drive efficiency in relative benefits content areas.
  • Manage day-to-day administration of the health and welfare benefit plans and programs.
  • Manage projects as needed.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree and 5 years related experience.
  • Strong time management and project management skills.
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of all federal and state laws related to employee benefits.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of state laws that may affect employee benefits.
  • Understanding of standard benefit concepts and practices.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Minimum proficiency in HRIS (benefits/payroll or accounting a plus).
  • CEBS or CBP designation a plus.

Incumbent must be prepared to:

  • Move up to 10 pounds occasionally, by lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise repositioning objects.
  • Sitting for long periods of time while using office equipment such as computers, phones and etc.
  • Fingering and Repetitive motions; such as movement of wrists, hands and fingers while picking, pinching and typing during your normal working environment.
  • Express or exchange ideas with others through the use of spoken word, quickly, accurately, and at an easily audible volume, and receive detailed information through oral communication at usual speaking levels without correction, and/or make fine discriminations in the nature of sounds in the environment.

Incumbent is required to have:

  • Close visual acuity to perform detail oriented activities at distances close to the eyes, as well as visual acuity to perform activities at or within arm’s reach with skill, control, and accuracy, such as preparing and analyzing data, viewing computer screen and expansive reading.

Incumbent will be subject to:

  • Inside working conditions: The change of building environment such as with or without air conditioning and heating.
