Job Description

Position Overview

Provides leadership for the analysis, planning and expansion of franchised businesses within existing and new markets.  Plans and executes market expansion sales strategy to expand customer base and drive revenue growth.  Manages a team responsible for identifying, attracting, and signing of professionally and financially qualified, proficient, and service oriented franchise business owners capable of delivering the brand’s services to customers.  Oversees Business Development sales operations and business development marketing efforts.

Job Responsibilities

  • Plans and manages the development and execution of strategic business development sales initiatives and marketing plans that surpass year over year growth targets for market expansion.
  • Ensures attainment of business development sales objectives and revenue goals for the organization.
  • Participates in and contributes to the overall strategic plans and initiatives for the business unit and the enterprise, including development of new and existing business lines and programs.
  • Supports and engages in complex sales negotiations and presentations.
  • Responsible for talent and development of the franchise business development team and builds a highly engaged, high performing team.
  • Facilitates the review, preparation and approval of franchise disclosure documents.
  • Develops relationships and partners with brand operational partners to ensure alignment of brand strategy and business development strategy.
  • Develops, monitors and manages annual budget.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field required; Master’s degree strongly preferred
  • 8+ years of experience in franchising as well as leadership and management of a sales function required, preferably across several lines of business/multi-sales channels
  • Franchise development experience within the facilities management, janitorial, and/or residential cleaning industry strongly preferred
  • Strategic business development skills
  • Knowledge of franchised business operations
  • Ability to facilitate and negotiate the complex sales of franchised businesses
  • Planning and leadership skills
  • Business and financial acumen
  • Written and verbal communication skills, including delivery of formal presentations
  • Project management knowledge and skills
  • Analytical skills
  • Ability to travel frequently (10% to 25%)

Incumbent must be prepared to:

• Move up to 10 pounds occasionally, by lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise repositioning objects.  

• Sitting for long periods of time while using office equipment such as computers, phones and etc.

• Fingering and Repetitive motions; such as movement of wrists, hands and fingers while picking, pinching and typing during your normal working environment.

• Express or exchange ideas with others through the use of spoken word, quickly, accurately, and at an easily audible volume, and receive detailed information through oral communication at usual speaking levels without correction, and/or make fine discriminations in the nature of sounds in the environment.

• Must be able to operate a motor vehicle.

Incumbent is required to have

• Close visual acuity to perform detail oriented activities at distances close to the eyes, as well as visual acuity to perform activities at or within arm’s reach with skill, control, and accuracy,  such as preparing and analyzing data, viewing computer screen and expansive reading.

Incumbent will be subject to:

• Inside working conditions: The change of building environment such as with or without air conditioning and heating.
